MILESTONES.
AUGUST 2012. Our submission & petition was delivered to the Minister.
SEPTEMBER 2012: The Minister announces five proposals - including Noosa's - are being referred to the Boundaries Commissioner.
NOVEMBER 2012. The Boundaries Commissioner recommends that Noosa has a poll to decide whether residents want to de-amalgamate.
DECEMBER 2012: The Minister decides that Noosa, Livingstone, Mareeba and Douglas will have polls on March 9, 2013.
MARCH 9TH, 2013. NOOSA RESIDENTS VOTE MORE THAN 80% YES TO RESTORE THEIR LOCAL COUNCIL.
MARCH - DECEMBER 2013: De-amalgamation transition plan implemented.
NOVEMBER 9TH 2013: Election for new Noosa Council
JANUARY 1ST, 2014:
Noosa Council starts operations (date set by Minister).
